Many of you may or may not know that I've been considering buying a house over the last several months. I really haven't put any effort into the process until the last month or so when it seemed like the market was at least returning to a little more reasonable.
I found a couple of houses that were interesting, and I considered, but figured the value still wasn't where I wanted, so I've been watching them and seeing how they do. This past week, after looking at a couple more that were a little closer to what I was looking for and price/value that was in the ballpark, I think I found one. I put an offer down on it Thursday, and as I write this, am waiting to hear the final decision. I should find out by Sunday and see what the status will finally be.
It is a small 3 bedroom/2 bath on the water near Granby High School/De Paul Medical center.
I haven't put the pictures up here, but will if the offer gets accepted. For the time being I'm keeping the townhouse that I currently live in, and purchased a few years ago. While I may rent it out to my current roommate for her and her husband, it may also be available to rent, so if anybody has a desire to live close by NOB, let me know! Will probably give Craigs List a try about then if it all works out.
Well, that's the big news. If all works out, look for a house warming party at the end/beginning of the year. May either do it as a New Year's Party, or in conjunction with Eric's going away we talked about doing in January.
Take Care,
Ken
